PUBLISHER’s CORNER– The Power of Speaking Positive Words.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21

Just imagine the power of your words for a moment; from these words comes life or death.

Shouldn’t that make us stop and think before we open our mouths to speak? Words have creative power. Whether we believe it or not, they do. At the beginning of creation God spoke everything into existence (Genesis 1). Since we are made in His image we have that same power.

It is important therefore to know God’s will and purpose for our lives so that what we do or say brings glory to Him and not to ourselves.

And how we are able to do that is by knowing His WORD and proclaiming His promises over our self, our families, friends, churches, communities, cities, and countries.

I remembered being led by the Holy Spirit to proclaim God’s promises over my life. And daily I would proclaim these scriptures for a year, and I began to see God working in my life.

One thing that stood out for me was when the enemy came with negative thoughts because I was proclaiming the word, I knew exactly what to say to counter those negative thoughts.

Those scriptures were stored in my heart and influenced my decisions.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 (ESV)

Those scriptures also give me reassurance of God’s protection and provision for my life.

God is faithful and His WORD. He is not man, that he should lie,
or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it?
Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
Numbers 23:19

All of us have power with our words but I have found it’s best to let God guide us with our words through meditating on His words in the bible.

He told Joshua, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8 (ESV)

I would like to challenge you to write out the promises God has given you and daily proclaim them over your life and family.

Be Blessed.
