Marriage restored

A marriage restored through faith in God.

Melanie got married very young. She met her husband at a Christian camp, and they were married for 12 years. Her life changed when she discovered that her husband had had an affair.

This led her on a new journey where she worked on hearing God’s voice.

As she lay on her bedroom floor, she heard God ask her if her marriage was over. She heard “no” before she could finish her thought.

Then she asked God what she had to do, but she heard nothing.

On the week her divorce was to go through, a friend asked her to ask God for the key. Out of obedience, she prayed, and the next morning, God showed her a key and the word “love”. She started to love her husband unconditionally, no matter what he did.

Watch her story here:

She and her two kids prayed for their father. When her oldest found out that her father was returning home, she said, “Mom, our prayers worked. Daddy is coming home!”

The couple planned a restoration ceremony, and a few months later, they got remarried.

It took over four years, and now they are expecting their third baby.

The four years that her husband was gone was a journey. All she had was Jesus, and that was fine with her.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

— Philippians 4:6-7 ESV
