Hannah and her husband, Craig, tried for years to get pregnant, even pursuing fertility treatments, all to no avail.
However, while she was vacationing, she received a message from God. He said, “I know the plans I have for you, and I control what goes in and out of you, just like I control what goes in and out of this ocean.”
Their son, Kase, was born on August 28th, 2015. But before they left the hospital, Hannah knew that something was wrong. Kase had a condition that prevented his windpipe from functioning properly. The weeks after his birth were an emotional rollercoaster for his parents.
During those times when he cried, Hannah would get up and stimulate him, sing “Amazing Grace” to him, and pray over him. She had spoken life to him from the very moment she held him.
Eventually, he was allowed to go home with his parents, but a couple of close calls forced them to take him back to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
A few weeks later, he turned blue, and Hannah had to give him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and take him back to the hospital again.
As the doctors conducted more tests, they became increasingly concerned. The doctors informed them that Kase may not live to be six months old, may never walk or talk, and could be partially brain-dead.
Hannah held onto three beliefs:
- She serves a God who can miraculously heal Kase,
- He can use medical science,
- and He can choose to take him to heaven.
They set up a Facebook page and encouraged family and friends to pray for him.
After Kase made it to one year, his doctors suggested an airway reconstructive surgery which turned out much better than anticipated. Kase’s family and friends continued to pray, and amazingly, his airway began to heal quickly. When his parents came to the full realization that Kase was going to make a full recovery, they felt like a weight had been lifted off their shoulders.
Through it all, they realized that God never left them, and He never left Kase. Today, Kase is a normal, healthy five-year-old.
The couple trusted God throughout the entire process, building their faith in Him.
