Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
If we say we love God but hate our brothers and sisters, it shows that we do not know God, for God is Love.
That’s why we cannot practice racism, discrimination or partiality and say that we are Christians. For God’s love has no place with hate, malice, or division in no form. These are not traits of Jesus Christ.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
When we show love to others, even to those who hate us, we are being true children of God and kingdom citizens.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Matthew 5:44.
You can therefore show love to other by
- Giving to those in need.
- Spend quality time with the elderly, family and friends
- Call someone you have not heard or seen in a while to see how they are doing.
- Offer encouraging words to someone who’s discouraged.
- Forgive those you have done you wrong.
- and Prayer for others
When we do these things, we are showing people God’s love for them.
The only Jesus that people see is the Jesus in you and me.
So let us, therefore, let our light shine for Jesus and be his true representative here on earth. People would know that we are Christians by our love one for another.
