Psalm 1
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.“
The people you associate with can shape your language, thoughts, and actions. It’s important to make wise choices with the friends you keep because they are the ones who influence and advise you. Negative people can have a detrimental impact on your life, while positive people can have a beneficial impact and guide you on the right path.
A righteous person finds delight in studying the word of God and following the biblical truths and principles they have learned. By doing so, they will experience spiritual growth, prosperity, and great success in all their endeavors.
On the other hand, desiring ungodly things leads to restlessness and a lack of fulfillment in one’s pursuits.
God wants you to embrace a godly lifestyle and reject ungodly behaviors and things, so that you may lead a blessed and joyful life. By being a shining light for others, you can show them the path to abundant life in God.
Let’s pray:
Heavenly Father,
Help me refrain from participating in ungodly behaviors, as they are not pleasing to You. Instead, keep me on the straight and righteous path that brings honor and glory to Your name. Surround me with godly friends and associates who can serve as examples for me to follow and provide wise counsel. In Jesus’s name,
May I meditate on Your word day and night and follow its instructions, that I may grow spiritually, prosper and have success in all I do.
In Jesus’ name
Amen
